More than a kiss

Thank you all for a wonderful time last night. You deserve a lot more than a kiss at the door.

Many came in costumes expressing their whimsy, their artistry, their secret self. We communed with stickmen and mermaids, vampires and fairies, satyrs and swordsmen, pussycats and priests.

Many came bearing gifts. Golden mead, silver wine and ales from many lands. Exotic potions, herbs and spices. Cotton candy. A flying pig.

Special thanks to a partner in crime who helped me reap the greenman's grass; to the siren who lured a great many guests to our fire; to the select few who stepped forward with songs for our playlist; to the camera workers who captured our faces and souls so the memories of the night can last for years; and especially to my mate for a sumptuous feast, 90 percent of the preparation work and 95 percent of the cleanup.

Thanks to our friends, both old and new
Who turned the rain into witch's brew
And twisted the howling wind into song
And tended the bonfire all night long
