We've said it before. We'll say it again.
As long as we are still alive, there will be a bonfire at our home every first Saturday in May and every last Saturday in October.
Mrs. Mungo and I are pleased to announce we are still alive.
So now you know. And here's everything else you need to know. You're invited. Bring inebriants. Bring snacks to share. Bring musical instruments. Bring sass. Bring joy. You're all good at those last two things. That's why you got invited.
And wear costumes if you'd like. Who says that's just for Halloween?
Beltane is the counterpart to Halloween, or Samhain as we Celts call it. Everyone knows Halloween celebrates ghosts and death and such. Beltane, on the other hand, celebrates life and love and birth. Halloween is scary. Beltane is horny. Two sides of the same coin. Isn't being human wicked fun?
So please forgive our messy house, our challenging parking, our old-people-on-limited-income selection of refreshments, our outdated septic system, Come to our Beltane bonfire. We spark it up at 8 p.m.
If you know us, you know where to find us. If you haven't come before, get hold of us at samhainfire@live.com.
