Beltane and a bonus kitten pic

I've brought up the meaning of Beltane once or twice in the past. No reason to rehash. This year I'll skip that and sum up the key stuff quickly.

But first let me tell you about the invitation photo. The lovely model is Wolfie Anne, abandoned in the woods as a wee kitten and adopted into the family some six months before. I think we'd just seen the Jack Nicholson movie Wolf and she resembled the wolf in the movie, hence her name.

This was back in 1994. A close friend worked for a local newspaper and needed art to go with a story on an area witch who didn't want her picture taken. Mrs. Mungo and I gathered some props and put Wolfie up on a table with them. I took about five shots, handheld, with a Pentax K1000. Didn't know if any of the shots came out until I saw this in the paper a week later. Ah, film. Life took patience in those days.

Wolfie Anne now reposes in the cat cemetery in front of the holly bushes.

So here's the nitty gritty about May 6. We're burning, of course, and:

  • It's at the usual place.
  • Potluck, so bring an item of food or drink or whatever that you want to share with everyone.
  • Costumes? You bet.
  • Musical play and astounding tricks always welcome.
  • Excuse the place -- we're in the middle of some small home projects.
So sorry for the last-minute notice, Hope everyone can make it anyway. The missus and I would love to see you all!
